Sharp 108-inch LCD television
This is real entertainment. Sharp Electronics has released one of the world’s largest televisions, a 108-inch LCD television — larger than the biggest plasmas that have yet been announced. It is said to have a higher resolution than plasmas and lower in power consumption. The set is 93.9 inches high, 52.9 inches wide and 107.8 inches on the diagonal, and shines with 2.07 million pixels (1,920 x 1,080).
This would surely bring up the level of competition among the players in the plasma industry and the makers of LCD televisions. And what’s great about competition is that some tend to lower their prices in order to attract more customers. With the emergence of this kind of technology, imagine what we would have in our own homes in a few more years. Would you still go to movies? I don’t think so.
Imagine watching movies on this kind of TV or playing PS3 games. Spice it up with a cool surround sound system, and you would really feel like everything is real.
The Multi-Talented Sharp Papyrus PW-TC900
Having a gadget that can translate across languages is cool. But it’s even better if you can also use that device as a television set. It’s way better if the gadget can serve as your photo viewer or even MP3 player when you insert an SD card or MMC with your media files. The Sharp Papyrus PW-TC900 does just that!
This is the first Japanese and Japanese-English dictionary with a 1Seg digital TV tuner and a SUPERB display. Only Sharp can make such displays, thanks to their ASV technology (resolution: 480×272). AS TV alone is never enough in Japan, the dictionary also has an MP3 player and an SD slot.
The TC900 will be available in Japan this December. Sharp has not yet announced pricing.
Sharp XV-Z21000 1080p DLP Projector
When talking high definition, 1080p is king. And you’d want it as large as possible, especially if the display is really that sharp. It looks like we do have a sharp one from Sharp–the XV-Z21000 DLP Projector. Oh, and it’s bright too, with a contrast ratio of 12,000:1.
The only problem is the price. $11,279 for a projector? Well, that’s about three to five times as expensive as just any other projector, but 1080p at 12,000:1 contrast ratio seems sweet! The product is due for release this September. Here are the full specs via Shootandshow:

Sharp announces Aquos P-70 series for the UK market
Sharp has announced the release of three new models in its Aquos P-series LCD line intended for the UK market, which uses the PAL-type broadcast signal.
The 26-inch Aquos LC-26P70E, 32-inch LC-32P70E and 37-inch LC-37P70E are specifically designed for the UK PAL broadcast signal, and are said to perfectly reproduce the broadcast, with the LCD panels’ 960 x 540 resolution (in contrast, the NTSC signal popular in other markets uses a 640×400 resolution).
The P70 Series panels incorporate Sharp’s unique Advanced Super View (ASV) technology to enhance picture quality further, with brightness at 450cd/m2. A viewing angle of 170 degrees, both horizontally and vertically, ensures a perfect picture on screen – wherever the viewer is sitting. In addition, Advanced Optical Picture Control (OPC) automatically adjusts the brightness of the picture to take account of the ambient light in the room.
